Please download the petition below which is necessary to successfully collect signatures for Senator Lugar’s re-election campaign. Each person who signs the petition must be registered to vote in Indiana in order for their signature to be counted.
Here are some brief instructions to keep in mind as you collect signatures:
- If necessary, explain that signing the petition in no way obligates people to vote a certain way. It simply allows the Senator to be on the ballot, and we need signatures of registered voters STATEWIDE to secure his place on the ballot.
- Make sure that each person signing a petition form lives and is registered to vote in the county indicated in the top right corner of the form. (You will need to write the desired county name on each form.) For instance, if your mom and dad live in Allen County, and your sister lives in Floyd County, you will need two separate forms to collect those three signatures. You need one for Allen for your parents and one for Floyd for your sister.
- Once completed, check to see that the “Printed Name” section is legible.
- The last two columns on the right should NOT be filled out by the individuals. The respective County Clerk will do that later.
- Do not make any marks on the back of the CAN-4. It is reserved for County Voter Registration Office for the certification process.
- Please include a note with your name so that we can give you credit for the signatures that you collect.
